The third eye is a symbol and is an image the world over representing a penetrating ability to know and recognize true knowledge. This is a knowledge that you may not actually know but receive into your conscious thinking mind.

It is considered the eye of Dharma in Buddhism, the eye of wisdom in Islam, the eye of Shiva in Hinduism, and the eye of God in Christianity. The third eye is considered to be located invisibly in the center of the forehead between the two physical eyes. The third eye is the symbol for the visionary and the clairvoyant as the seer, sage, or see-er. The gaze of one eye can also represent a unity of vision in which the dualism of inner & outer sight feels resolved. The light of the mind has been imagined as the third eye.
